Ready to bid your mittens, boots, snow shovels and ice scrapers adieu? Sonesta hotels in Florida are running a social media contest from now until February 28, after which one lucky social media user will be chosen for a getaway at the hotel chain's contemporary, centrally located properties in the Sunshine State.

The winner of the "Flee to Florida" contest will receive stays at several hotels in Florida: three nights at Sonesta ES Suites in Orlando and two nights each at Sonesta Coconut Grove in Miami, Sonesta Fort Lauderdale and Sonesta ES Suites Jacksonville.

Here's how to get your chance to experience four of Florida's most iconic beach destinations, right when it seems the winter weather couldn't get any worse: Post a photo to your Instagram account or upload one to the Sonesta Hotels' Facebook contest tab (and follow both accounts).

Be sure to include the #SonestaSnowcation hashtag on your photo and tag the participating Sonesta hotels. But don't hold back — judges want to see why you're especially in need of a Florida vacation.

The final prize will be awarded as 210,000 Sonesta Travel Pass points, enough to cover the stays at the hotels mentioned above, or even to choose one participating Sonesta hotel and stay for the duration.

The winner will need to be a Travel Pass member, but there's no fee to sign up. Travel Pass is Sonesta's guest rewards program giving travelers perks, points, privileges and exclusives.

Resort fees and taxes are included in the getaway, but the winner will need to cover his or her own flights.

"Our team is excited to launch this social media contest giving travelers nationwide the opportunity to experience their own tropical escape during the cold winter months," said Eduardo Fernandez, general manager of Sonesta Fort Lauderdale Beach.

These Florida Towns Will Remind You of the Caribbean

For most, a beach vacation on a Caribbean island is a no-brainer. There's nothing quite as strong as the allure of palm trees, aquamarine water and colorful architecture — not to mention a more relaxed pace of life. But before you commit to a destination in the West Indies (and the long trek that invariably comes with it), consider these easy-to-reach Florida escapes with a host of Caribbean-inspired characteristics, from gin-clear waters to brightly colored façades.
