Best Beaches in Curacao

1. Blue Bay Beach

Small But Stunning

One of the most beloved beaches near the capital of Willemstad, Blue Bay occupies a tiny curve of sand backed by the Blue Bay Golf Club, just outside of the town of Sint Michiel.

So why do so many people make a point to visit such a small beach? Credit goes to the beach's sheltered cove, perfect for snorkelers and swimmers who want to experience the water without choppy waves and murky waters.

A Snorkeler's Heaven

Indeed, Blue Bay Beach's best feature might be what lies beneath the surface. Upon entering the water you'll start to see the coral that makes the beach famous; wade out even further to see the ocean floor dominated by colorful reefs brimming with tropical fish.

Tips

You'll have to pay an $8 fee to enter the beach, and loungers and umbrellas come at an additional cost.

Protect yourself from sharp coral with water shoes, and be sure to pack sunscreen — a thicket of palms is the only place for a bit of shade.

Azzuro, Blue Bay Beach Bar and Sunset Bar and Grill are your choices for dining near the beachfront. Make the drive to Willemstad for a wider range of options, including Vita Vegetarian Cuisine, a popular option for plant-based fare.
