Beach-loving Canadians, listen up: Myrtle Beach is doing everything it can to make a trip to its shores as easy as possible next year.

In light of the weakening Canadian dollar, which converts to 76 cents on the US dollar, the Myrtle Beach Area Convention and Visitors Bureau announced earlier this fall that select hotels and attractions would offer 30-60% discounts to Canadians for 2016 travel.

The steep discounts are intended keep Canadian travelers from feeling the effects of their weakened dollar, so they can enjoy a Myrtle Beach vacation affordably, just like their American neighbors.

Those travelers with valid Canadian passports can expect to receive discounts for travel between January and April 2016.

Savvy travelers might take advantage of the discounts and attend the annual Canadian-American Days Festival,. This festival packs in special activities and events designed to show Southern hospitality at its finest.

"We have been welcoming Canadians to the Myrtle Beach area for decades and hope this promotional solution will help overcome any financial hurdles caused by the exchange rate," said Susan Phillips, director of marketing for the Myrtle Beach Area CVB.

"This special Canadian discount is just one more reason to visit in the lovely late winter and early spring seasons, which have typically mild weather, even more affordable accommodations and more elbow room at area attractions."

These Florida Towns Will Remind You of the Caribbean

For most, a beach vacation on a Caribbean island is a no-brainer. There's nothing quite as strong as the allure of palm trees, aquamarine water and colorful architecture — not to mention a more relaxed pace of life. But before you commit to a destination in the West Indies (and the long trek that invariably comes with it), consider these easy-to-reach Florida escapes with a host of Caribbean-inspired characteristics, from gin-clear waters to brightly colored façades.
