Seven Mile Beach

Cayman Islands

Grand Cayman Grandeur

Sometimes, in the Caribbean, things can seem a little exaggerated. The skies are bluer than you’ve ever seen, the water is as clear as glass, and the clean, white-sand beaches seem to go on forever.

Seven Mile Beach might seem over-the-top dreamy to behold, but only its length is an illusion. Despite its name, the beach comes in at under five miles. But visitors to this paradise don’t mind the error one bit, and neither should you.

Everything and More

Located on the western end of Grand Cayman, Seven Mile Beach is one of the most popular in the country, and is filled with high-end hotels and resorts that cater to travelers from around the globe.

It’s known as a top snorkeling spot, and you can easily rent the necessary gear onshore and head out for some aquatic exploration.

One of the Grand Cayman’s biggest attractions is Stingray City, a series of sandbars where you can have an unforgettable experience swimming with stingrays.

Food and Fun

Though you can claim a picnic table and have lunch there, you don’t have to wander far from the beach to find excellent dining options. Beachside bars, too, are plentiful and provide the vibrant atmosphere for downing a few cold ones. And a vacation would hardly be a vacation without a splurge session, so give your credit card a workout at the many shops at Camana Bay or in Governor’s Square.

If you’ve got kids in tow, let them explore the playground at the stretch of beach toward the north. There are restrooms and showers there for your convenience.

It may not be seven miles long, but Seven Mile Beach is certainly long enough for a leisurely stroll along the sand while the sun sets.
