Tobago’s Top Beach

There are many beautiful beaches on the Caribbean island of Tobago, so how will you know you’ve reached the most exquisite beach spot? There will be some visual cues: a narrow stretch of clean, white sand, a smattering of coconut palms and smaller shrubs and, most importantly, a jetty with a thatched-roof hut.

These are a few qualities that set Pigeon Point apart, and they’re part of the reason the beach is such a popular retreat.

Cost of Beauty

They say nothing in life is free, and unfortunately, that’s true of Pigeon Point as well. You’ll have to pay a small fee to enter the beach area, but the price covers amenities like bathrooms, showers and the watchful eyes of lifeguards.

With a few extra bucks, you can rent a sun bed, park it in a shady spot, and let your cares dissipate. If it’s adventure you seek, book an excursion to a nearby reef, or rent some water sports equipment from a beachfront vendor.

Keep in Mind

Pigeon Point is easy on the eyes, but you won’t be the only one with a hankering for a view of the gorgeous waters. This beach gets extremely busy at times, which is great if you love a lively vacation atmosphere, but not so great if you were hoping for a little bit of tranquility.

Walk past the pier to the unmanicured parts of the beach. Swimming around these parts is not recommended, but you’ll be able to enjoy the scenery with fewer fellow vacationers.
