Best Beaches in Virgin Gorda

1. The Baths

Nature's Awe-Inspiring Surprise

The volcanic origins of the island of Virgin Gorda are the source of a rare treat for travelers venturing into The Baths. Massive granite boulders rise out of the sand, providing a stunning scene and offering a collection of secret rock pools to explore.

This anomaly is part of the larger BVI National Park, which is also home to nearby Devil's Bay, reachable by a series of steps and rope handrails.

A Day at the Beach

Once you've enjoyed a dip in the shady pools beneath the boulders, you can partake in other beach activities, such as snorkeling, diving and sunbathing.

Nearby bathrooms and lockers allow you to spend the entire day enjoying The Baths and Devil's Bay. If you didn't come with food, head to the Poor Man's Bar for some refreshments.

What to Expect

While it's a must-see, The Baths is somewhat secluded, so factor in a taxi or a rental car in your budget. Wear sneakers or swim shoes if you plan to climb the boulders, as they can be slippery.

And remember that there's a small fee to enter BVI National Park: adults, $3; children, $2 (as of April 2015).
